What To Do in Seven, Four or 2 Hours

Jasper National Park is filled with exciting adventures and scenic routes that are waiting to be explored during your visit. Whether you have the day to spend or just a few hours, get the most out of your time by checking out some amazing sights during your stop. So, what is there to do in Jasper? We have provided activities that are fit for various durations of time spent in the park.

Two Hours or Less

Jasper Skytram

Just quickly stopping in Jasper for a short time? No worries, the Jasper Skytram has you covered. You’ll be swept off your feet on a seven-minute ride to the top of Whistler’s Mountain where you can take in breathtaking views. Your Skytram Guide will provide you with a narrated tour while you ride on the longest and highest aerial tramway in the Rocky Mountains! 

Once at the top, you can choose to enjoy the scenery from the visitor’s centre or hike to the mountain’s summit. Stay as long or as short as you like since you’ll be able to ride the Skytram back down the mountain when you’re ready. You can expect to set aside about one to three hours for this activity. 

Four Hours

If you’re planning to spend a portion of your day in Jasper, check out the Maligne Canyon Hiking Tour. On this hiking tour, your guide will take you to explore the deepest accessible canyon in the Rockies! Sights that you’ll see on your adventure include spectacular waterfalls, beautiful bridges and rushing water through the canyon. Seven Hours

There are so many extraordinary Jasper hikes to explore if you’re planning on visiting for the day.  The Maligne Valley Sightseeing Tour is a great option for a summer day trip spent in the park. This afternoon tour through the Maligne Valley stop at the remarkable Medicine Lake. You’ll then have the choice to experience the picturesque Maligne Lake up close during an afternoon cruise, or learn about the area on a guided hike along the shore. 

After returning to the chalet, explore the lakeside trails or take an opportunity to capture some marvellous photos of the scenery. The Wildlife Discovery tour will begin as dusk falls and the wildlife emerges. Experience wildlife in a whole new way on this two-hour adventure. Near the end of the tour, you’ll visit the Maligne Canyon where you can look over the deepest part of the canyon. The total duration of this tour is about seven hours and is perfect for all skill levels and ages!
